What levels should I take?
Explanation of Levels:
HON: Honors – Requires a strong command of basic skills and is extremely rigorous. This is equivalent to the demands of a college level course.
ACC: Accelerated – Requires a good command of basic skills and the ability to perform in a rigorous program at a rapid pace. This is a college prep course.
CP: College Prep – Requires a command of basic skills and is moderately paced. This is a college prep course.
MOD: Modified – Reinforces and builds upon basic skills.
PR: Pullout Replacement – Special Education
Science Levels
Along with the recommendation of the 8th grade science teacher, the following guidelines should be used when selecting your science course:
Biology, HON: Students should have a strong interest in science and are prepared to challenge themselves academically. They should have completed Algebra I and/or Geometry with a final grade of A or B, and will be enrolled in Geometry HON and/or Algebra II HON/ACC
Biology, ACC: The recommended science class for most freshmen. Students should have above average math skills. They will be enrolled in Algebra I HON/ACC and/or Geometry ACC.
Biology, CP: Students may benefit from smaller class size and/or need additional academic support. They may have some difficulty with math. Students may be enrolled in Algebra I ACC/CP and/or Algebra I Support Lab.
Biology, MOD: Students may benefit from smaller class size and/or need additional academic support. They have some difficulty with math. Students will be enrolled in Algebra I CP/PR and/or Algebra I Support Lab.
