Starting May 7, 2025, any individual over the age of 18 who travels on any domestic flight will be required to have the new "Real ID" on their license for air travel within the U.S. Students who plan to attend the
Senior Class trip in 2026 and are over the age of 18 are required to have this new “Real ID”. If a student does not have a "Real ID," they will need to present another form of government-issued identification, such as a passport.
Given that many students are beginning to obtain their licenses, this is an ideal time and we highly encourage them to opt-in for a "Real ID." Please note that Social Security cards, state birth certificates, or school IDs will not be accepted for this purpose if they are 18 or over. For a list of other acceptable forms of ID, please visit the TSA link provided:
https://www.tsa.gov/travel/security-screening/identification
For students who are 17 and under, at the time of the 2026 class tip, the new “Real ID” does not apply. Students who are 17 will speak with Ms. Collins in the Main office regarding proper forms of identification.
