Objective: Students will research the issue they select using databases and/or credible websites and students will properly cite all information in MLA format. Create a NEW PROJECT for this assignment
Directions to cite database articles, websites, images, videos and more using Noodletools (from the Lenape HS Research Guide)
Database articles will export to your noodletools list
Website citation directions
Click on NEW SOURCE
Select WEBSITE -- WEBPAGE
Fill out:
URL from your website (copy and paste)
Date Accessed (click TODAY to automatically fill in today’s date)
WEBPAGE title (this is the name of the specific page you are on …. most likely, the name of your topic)
WEBSITE title (this is the name of the entire site where you are finding information)
Any additional information you can find
THEN CLICK SAVE to save the citation to your Noodletools list
In-text citations throughout slide presentation (for ALL sources, including images, videos and other multimedia)
Noodletools will help you with the in-text citations
Click on OPTIONS next to your citation in your source list
Select IN-TEXT REFERENCE to get assistance with creating the in-text citation for every source
Works Cited - full citations
Create your full source list in Noodletools
Example presentation with full Works Cited at the end and in-text citations throughout presentation
To export your source list to a Works Cited document: click on PRINT/EXPORT TO GOOGLE DOCS and copy this full Works Cited list to the last slide of your presentation

EVALUATE all sites with the C.R.A.A.P. Test
Currency - is it up to date and kept current?
Reliability - does it meet your information needs? (for instance, a township social media site may be useful and reliable if you want to discuss public sentiment about a new park or traffic light)
Accuracy - is it verified by multiple sources/correct content?
Authority - is it written and published by a trusted source (individual or group/agency/organization)?
Purpose/Point of View - what is the purpose of the site? Is it to inform (or to sell products, etc)?
