Welcome Parents and Students!
Hello! My name is Cliff Darby, and I am thrilled to continue serving as the TOPS University counselor for the class of 2027. I am originally from Pineville, Louisiana, but I have called Lafayette home since 2018. I earned my bachelor's degree in Psychology from Louisiana College (now Louisiana Christian University) and my master's degree in Counseling from Northwestern State. I have worked for LPSS as a school counselor since January 2018. My wife and I are huge sports fans, so you'll probably see me yelling "GO LIONS!" most nights and weekends! 🦁
The LHS mission is to inspire and empower students within a disciplined, academic environment to become ethical, well-rounded contributors to society. As a school counselor, I work to support the school in achieving this vision. I believe all students should be given the opportunity to thrive, and I endeavor to support all students in their personal growth.
Parents / Guardians: Please schedule an appointment if you would like to meet in-person. The reality of school counseling is such that students may arrive unannounced for counseling, or I may be called into a crisis situation, so I may not always be available for unscheduled meetings.
Email is absolutely the best way to reach me. I monitor my email during working hours, and it is my goal to respond to all communication within one business day.
