Addition and Subtraction Quizzes

Addition and subtraction facts are a very important component of our 2nd grade math curriculum this year. The students will be asked to solve 12 mixed math facts in a minute. We will take this quiz every week for the whole 9 week period. Once a student has passed all their facts, they will not have to take it again! PLEASE STUDY and drill these facts! If you need a set of flashcards to keep at home, please let me know.

Module Quizzes and Tests 

Our math quizzes and tests will be based on the Eureka Math Squared curriculum and the modules used in class. The students will always know in advance when there will be a test and they will be encouraged to study from their problem sets. Completing homework every night and paying attention in class every day will greatly increase their success on these tests. 

Homework 

A few homework problems will be assigned each night. Not doing it can and will greatly affect your students overall grade and success on the tests. It will almost always be problems from the Eureka Math Squared homework set that corresponds with the lesson taught that day. Homework will be on the weekly agenda that is sent home each week.
