This page is the math reflection for your year in math class. It should be filled out before your conference with your parents and should guide you in discussing how math has been this year and is progressing this semester. It should also allow you to develop a plan and goals to finish the year strong.
Please discuss the following topics as a family:
“Throughout this year in math class, we have learned about…”
1. expressions and equations
2. percents
3. unit rate
4. percent proportions
5. graphing
6. integers and rational numbers
Something I found that was easy was percents.
Something I found that was interesting was expressions and equations.
Something that was difficult for me was graphing.
What is your current academic mark?
3
What types of assignments make up my academic mark?
Math's Mate Test, T4 Quiz A, T4 Quiz B.
What has Mr Tuke allowed us to use on most quizzes, tests and assessments to help the class remember how to complete the problems?
The posters around the room.
What do you think your work habit mark should be?
4
What does your work habit grade mean, and why should you feel it is important?

Do you have any missing assignments?
No
Do you have any late assignments?
No
Why do you think we look at this information?
Because it can effect your grades.
How does homework impact your math academic mark?
It can show that you understand something before or after the test that you didn't know during the test.
After the discussion about math, discuss the following:
Does your grade represent your work in class and at home?
Yes it does.
What do YOU want your grade to be in math by the end of the semester? Why?
I would like it to be a 3.5 because I want my grade to show how hard I work in math.
How are you going to achieve this goal?
I will achieve this goal by preparing myself in advance and studying hard to get good grades on the next tests/quizzes so that I can bring my grade up from a 3 in math to a 3.5.
How can Mr. Tuke help you succeed?
He can help me by explaining mathematical processes and writing them on the board.
If there are any questions, please call Mr. Tuke over when he is free to talk.
Thanks to families for coming!
