This page is the math reflection for your year in math class. It should be filled out before your conference with your parents and should guide you in discussing how math has been this year and is progressing this semester. It should also allow you to develop a plan and goals to finish the year strong.
Please discuss the following topics as a family:
“Throughout this year in math class, we have learned about…”
1. expressions and equations
2. percents
3. unit rate
4. percent proportions
5. graphing
6. integers and numbers
Something I found that was easy was proportional rel
Something I found that was interesting was how you multiply diagonal then divide by the remaining number.
Something that was difficult for me was most things, but especially turning in assignments.
What is your current academic mark?
My grade is a 2.
What types of assignments make up my academic mark?
Homework assignments such as math pages and tests.
What has Mr Tuke allowed us to use on most quizzes, tests and assessments to help the class remember how to complete the problems? Sometimes a cheat sheet or previous assignments or a calcualtor.
What do you think your work habit mark should be?
I would think a 2 or 2.5 because I struggle turning in work.
What does your work habit grade mean, and why should you feel it is important?
A work habit means how you work in class or treat others and I feel like its important because it shows how much your trying.
Do you have any missing assignments?
I have 2 missing assignments.
Do you have any late assignments?
Yes.
Why do you think we look at this information?
I think you look at this information to analyze overall how we are doing and how to help us.
How does homework impact your math academic mark?
My homework impacts my academic mark because I have a hard time turning it in, so I get zeroes for those assingments.
After the discussion about math, discuss the following:
Does your grade represent your work in class and at home?
What do YOU want your grade to be in math by the end of the semester? Why?
How are you going to achieve this goal?
How can Mr. Tuke help you succeed?
If there are any questions, please call Mr. Tuke over when he is free to talk.
Thanks to families for coming!
