What is your current academic mark?
My academic mark is a 3.
What types of assignments make up my academic mark?
The main types of assignments that make up my academic marks are quizzes.
What has Mr Tuke allowed us to use on most quizzes, tests and assessments to help the class remember how to complete the problems?
We are allowed to use calculators, and the posters we have around the room,
What do you think your work habit mark should be?
I think my work habits mark should be a 3 because whenever we have homework I always try my best on it.
What does your work habit grade mean, and why should you feel it is important?
It means how hard we work in class or on homework.
Do you have any missing assignments?
I have no missing assignments
Do you have any late assignments?
I have no late assignments
Why do you think we look at this information?
I think we look at it because a missing is marked as a 0 in the grade books and that could really be detrimental to your grades.
How does homework impact your math academic mark?
It impacts it if there is stuff you put effort into and other things that you don't put effort into.
After the discussion about math, discuss the following:
Does your grade represent your work in class and at home?
What do YOU want your grade to be in math by the end of the semester? Why?
How are you going to achieve this goal?
How can Mr. Tuke help you succeed?
If there are any questions, please call Mr. Tuke over when he is free to talk.
Thanks to families for coming!
