This page is the math reflection for your year in math class. It should be filled out before your conference with your parents and should guide you in discussing how math has been this year and is progressing this semester. It should also allow you to develop a plan and goals to finish the year strong.
Please discuss the following topics as a family:
“Throughout this year in math class, we have learned about…”
1. expressions + equations
2. percents
3. unit rate
4. percent proportions
5. graphing
6. integers and rational numbers
Something I found that was easy was distributive property because I remembered it from last year.
Something I found that was interesting was percents because I have always found them cool and they show you answers the many different things.
Something that was difficult for me was I = PRT this was difficult to me because it was hard to figure out when to do what equations.

What types of assignments make up my academic mark?
Quizzes and math mates tests.
What has Mr Tuke allowed us to use on most quizzes, tests and assessments to help the class remember how to complete the problems?
He lets us use the posters around the room to help us remember how to do things in what order you need to do them.
What do you think your work habit grade should be?
4
What does your work habit grade mean, and why should you feel that it is important?
Your work habits grade is the time you put into your work outside of school, and what you are doing during class and if your focused.
Do you have any missing assignments?
Yes
Do you have any late assignments?
No
Why do you think we look at this information?
To reflect and figure out what we need to change and what we are doing good at.
How does homework impact your math academic grade?
Homework is a work habits grade and work habits grades effect academic content so if you put work in homework it will effect your academic grade positively.
After the discussion about math, discuss the following:
Does your grade represent your work in class and at home?
Yes and no I feel I put work in outside and during class, but I still haven't been able to get my grade high.
What do YOU want your grade to be in math by the end of the semester? Why?
I want to end with a 3.5 because I feel it would show I have a deep understanding of what we are learning and the amount of effort I have put in.
How are you going to achieve this goal?
I am going to achieve this goal by keeping on asking questions to understand and continuing to put focus and effort on assignments.
How can Mr. Tuke help you succeed?
I feel Mr. Tuke can help me succeed by giving us a couple more review and work days. This allows me to ask more questions and study more efficiently.
If there are any questions, please call Mr. Tuke over when he is free to talk.
Thanks to families for coming!
