About Mrs. Esperon

My people!

How I Got to Where I am Today

I graduated from the University of Colorado at Denver in 2003 with a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration and Marketing. I quickly began my career as a Marketing Project Manager at several local mutual fund companies. I also spent some time on the agency side of marketing at Integer. Although I enjoyed the fast paced creative environment, I did not feel fulfilled or content that I was doing what I was passionate about. I decided to take a risk and enrolled at Colorado Christian University to obtain my elementary teaching license. This will be my tenth year teaching at Franklin and I continuing to learn with every school year!

In My Classroom You Can Expect:

We are a busy classroom that is operating around set procedures, expectations, and collaboration. Students will be working as groups most of the time but will also have the opportunity to share their individual strengths and interests. We will be a class that collaborates with other classrooms in Franklin, as well as, other 4th grade classrooms within the district.

I am a strong believer in connecting what we are learning in class to real-life situations. One way I do this that is unique about my classroom is I remind my students that they are no longer asked "What do you want to do when you grow up?" but rather of the generation of determining what problem they hope to solve when they grow up. I encourage taking risks and big thinking. You will see my class participating in STEM projects and Genius Hour weekly to help expand their experience of critical thinking and working as a team to create or solve problems. We have a lot of fun!

My Family!

This summer I got married! Some of you may have heard about me from my maiden name Ms. McCutchen; I am still getting used to a new name! I have two beautiful daughters. Emsley is in sixth grade at Goddard Middle School and Mollie is in fourth grade this year at Centennial Elementary. I have two step-sons, Exodus, who is a sophomore and Leo, who will be graduating this year. My family is always doing adventures whether we are finding old mines, playing with all our pets, or riding dirt bikes; it is never a dull moment!

Best Way to Contact Me:

The best way to reach me is by email: emccutchen@lps.k12.co.us. (I will let you know when my name change shows up on my email!) I generally read through emails during my planning time and in the evenings. I will respond to your emails within 24 hours. If you have an email that goes out the evening before, I generally will not see it until the next morning. Please let me know if there are going to be any problems with this for you and I will do my best to meet your needs.
