This page is the math reflection for your year in math class. It should be filled out before your conference with your parents and should guide you in discussing how math has been this year and is progressing this semester. It should also allow you to develop a plan and goals to finish the year strong.
Please discuss the following topics as a family:
“Throughout this year in math class, we have learned about…”
1. Probability
2. Percents
3. Unit rate
4. Percent proportions
5. Graphing
6. Integers and rational numbers
Something I found that was easy was percents and unit rate
Something I found that was interesting was graphing
Something that was difficult for me was probability
What is your current content grade?
My current content grade is a 2. ☹️
What types of assignments make up my content grade?
My Amp Unit 3- Final Assessment that I got a 1.5 on 😫
My Unit 3- Sub Unit Quiz that I got a 2 on 😕
How have you prepared for any quizzes or assessments? Has your strategies been working?
I have been just doing the homework and sometimes I will find blookets that connect to our topic we are in. I feel like it will help me that day, but then I will sometimes forget.
What do you think your work habit grade should be?
I have a 3 right now, but I think it should be a 3.5 because I have a mix of a lot of 3s and 4s. So, I think it should make up a middle, like a 3.5.
What does your work habit grade mean, and why should you feel that it is important?
My work habits grade means how well I turn in my assignments on time and if I grade my homework. Also, kind of how I pay attention in class.
Do you have any missing assignments?
No, I do not have any missing assignments.
Do you turn in any assignments late?
Only when I am sick or just forgot to press the mark as done button in Google classroom.
Why do you think we look at this information?
To see how I do in class and if I should maybe get extra help with math or if I should move up a level.
How does homework impact your math content grade?
It impacts my content grade by showing how well I understand the math that we are learning. And how it helps me to improve my other content grades.
After the discussion about math, discuss the following:
Does your grade represent your work in class and at home?
What do YOU want your grade to be in math by the end of the semester? Why?
How are you going to achieve this goal?
How can Mr. Tuke help you succeed?
If there are any questions, please call Mr. Tuke over when he is free to talk.
Thanks to families for coming!
