This page is the math reflection for your year in math class. It should be filled out before your conference with your parents and should guide you in discussing how math has been this year and is progressing this semester. It should also allow you to develop a plan and goals to finish the year strong.
Please discuss the following topics as a family:
“Throughout this year in math class, we have learned about…”
1. probability
2. percents
3. unit rate
4. percent proportions
5. graphing
6. Integers and rational numbers
Something I found that was easy was listening to Mr. Tuke and understanding the math concepts.
Something I found interesting was how all the math just kind of fits together.
Something difficult for me was finding time for all the assigned homework.
What is your current content grade?
My current content grade is a three.
What types of assignments make up my content grade?
Lots of the assignments that make up my content grade are tests and quizzes.
How have you prepared for any quizzes or assessments? Have your strategies been working?
I have studied with the study guides and review packets, and for terms, I have made flashcards to review.
What do you think your work habit grade should be?
I think that my work habit grade should be a four because I turn in assignments on time and do a great job participating in class.
What does your work habit grade mean, and why should you feel that it is important?
I think that my work habit grade means how much I am paying attention overall. This is important because I think that the work habit grade kind of affects the content grade.
Do you have any missing assignments?
I do have some missing assignments because it is kind of hard for me to complete the assignments on time and then turn them in.
Do you turn in any assignments late?
No; I look at the due date of the assignment and make sure I get it in on time.
Why do you think we look at this information?
I think that this information is looked at because the number of missing/late assignments in G.C. impacts your content grade.
How does homework impact your math content grade?
It shows how much I work, and it is good for studying and practicing math.
After the discussion about math, discuss the following:
Does your grade represent your work in class and at home?
What do YOU want your grade to be in math by the end of the semester? Why?
How are you going to achieve this goal?
How can Mr. Tuke help you succeed?
If there are any questions, please call Mr. Tuke over when he is free to talk.
Thanks to families for coming!
