Boys & Girls State
Missouri Boys & Girls State, sponsored by the American Legion Auxiliary, is an 8-day summer program where high schoolers learn leadership and government by creating a mock state. Held at Lindenwood University, participants form cities, counties, and political parties.

Missouri Cadet Patrol Academy
The Missouri Cadet Patrol Academy aims to foster respect for law enforcement among youth, emphasizing the importance of Law and Order in a democracy. Through firsthand experience, participants learn how law enforcement upholds freedoms and rights, encouraging them to advocate for legal and moral values in their communities.

Missouri Fine Arts Academy
The 2025 Missouri Leadership Seminar (MLS) offers sophomores a transformative weekend to unlock leadership potential, connect with peers across Missouri, and gain inspiration from community leaders—empowering students to make a difference in their world.

Tuition is free for MFAA 2025, a two-week arts academy at Missouri State University. Open to high school students in Dance, Vocal/Instrumental Music, Theatre, Creative Writing, and Visual Arts.

Summer Nursing Camp
The STAHR Scholars Program offers free resources, mentorship, and financial aid to high school juniors, seniors, and college students. Through summer and academic year experiences, participants explore health careers, gaining skills and confidence for success.

The Summer Nursing Camp is an opportunity for aspiring nurses or students interested in healthcare professions to immerse themselves in a nursing college and hospital clinical experience. Activities include a hospital tour, simulation lab experiences, professional panel and social activities.

Mini-Med School at University of Missouri - Columbia
Rockhurst Nursing Opportunities
The University of Missouri Columbia's High School Mini-Med School is returning this June for two sessions (June 7-11 and June 14-18). This overnight camp is for rising seniors interested in medicine. Students will experience hands-on clinical activities, attend lectures, and participate in the same Patient-Based Learning curriculum as Mizzou medical students. The cost is $650, including lodging and meals. Scholarships are available. Applications open January and are due mid-March.

Rockhurst University’s nursing program offers a summer 8-week hybrid exploration course for juniors/seniors (3.5+ GPA) interested in nursing. Online content is asynchronous via Canvas, with scheduled in-person lab days to practice nursing skills and critical thinking.
