Welcome to third grade—we’re so glad you’re here! This year is going to be full of fun, learning, and exciting adventures. You’ll get to dive into awesome chapter books, explore amazing science experiments, and become a math whiz with fun games and challenges. We’ll go on field trips, work on creative projects, and grow as a team. Get ready to make new friends, try new things, and have the best year yet! Third grade is going to be amazing!

Hello!

My name is Brooke Basner, and I am beyond fortunate to be a part of the wildcat family as a third grade teacher!

I most recently finished my 11th year of teaching. Before Wilder, I was a third grade teacher for three years at Flagstone Elementary in Castle Rock, Colorado. I received my Master of Arts in Kindergarten through Sixth Grade Education at the University of Northern Colorado, and I graduated from Colorado State University with a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies, with a focus on early childhood. Go Rams! There, I established my love for children and teaching. I have had experience with early childhood, second grade, third grade, and fourth grade.

Throughout my life, I have never imagined myself within a profession that doesn't involve education. My favorite aspect of teaching is watching students develop and express themselves individually. I strive to demonstrate the qualities necessary to motivate, build meaningful relationships with my students, and create a classroom atmosphere that provides security, management, routines, and trust for my students, as well as an acceptance of all individuals. My role in preparing students for their future is to establish a positive learning environment. I live for my students' motivation and enthusiasm toward learning!

I am very excited to be a part of Littleton Public Schools, as I am an alumni of Wilder Elementary, Goddard Middle School, and Heritage High School.

I am a Colorado girl, born and raised in Littleton. In my free time, I enjoy the outdoors, activities on the water, the beach, traveling, dancing, reading and cheering on the Avalanche, Broncos, Packers, and the Yankees. I also have an obsession with my niece, Charlie, and sharks! I am looking forward to marrying my fiancé, Sean, in June of this year! He is the absolute best!

Welcome to Third Grade! My name is Amy Guthrie, and I am excited to be teaching third grade at Wilder. Third graders are funny, quirky, engaging, and teach me something new every day. I have a BS in Civil Engineering from the University of Colorado Boulder - 'Sko Buffs! More recently, I received my Masters of Arts in Elementary Education from Metropolitan State University. Third grade is such a wonderful year for students to grow as learners and really soar, and I have loved being a para and a teacher in third grade for the last 10 years.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and traveling. I have four children ranging in age from 17 to 24, all of them Wilder Elementary graduates. :) We are a sports family, both playing and watching (the Broncos and Avs are a couple favorite teams!). And, of course, I cannot forget walking our dog, Aspen.

Mrs. Lawrence

Hi! My name is Sarah Lawrence, and I am thrilled to be joining the third grade team! This is my 10th year at Wilder and my 17th year in teaching. I have my Bachelor's in Elementary Education and my Master's in Curriculum and Instruction both through Colorado Christian University.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family. I have three boys that are three, four, and six. They are very busy and keep us on our toes. We are huge sports fans and love cheering for the Buffs, Avs, and Broncos! We recently welcomed a puppy into our family, Bo, who is full of energy.

Hi! My name is Annie Peterson, and I am so excited for our year this year in third grade!

I have wanted to teach ever since I was in third grade, and am so happy I get to continue my passion. This will be my sixth year at Wilder. I received my Master of Arts in Elementary Education from Metropolitan State University and my Bachelors in Human Development and Family Studies from Colorado State University (Go Rams!!!).

Third grade has always been one of my favorite grades, as a teacher and as a student. It is such a special year, and I love seeing students spark in learning continue to grow and flourish!

In my free time, I enjoy doing all things outdoors; hiking, snowboarding, mountain biking, and camping with my husband Andrew and our pup, Lua.

I can't wait for our new adventure together in Third Grade!
