I am a Colorado native, born and raised in the Littleton area. I received my Bachelor's Degree in Special Education K-12 from University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, Colorado (It doesn't smell THAT bad). This will be my fourth year teaching at Arapahoe High School. I previously taught for two years at Bear Canyon Elementary.
Personally, I have a dog who is a Border Collie mix named Phoebe, in reference to the show Friends. I love hiking, reading, and trying to cook. Growing up, I coached a soccer team for students with special needs and immediately knew that was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. Throughout my life, I experienced how teachers made a difference and I strive to do the same for my own students. I am dedicated to helping students reach their full potential both within the classroom and outside of the classroom. With the help of parents and the rest of the Arapahoe staff, I believe that ALL students can be successful in their post-secondary aspirations.
I graduated from Heritage High School but I am so excited to have switched allegiances. The students, staff, and community are wonderful. I cannot wait for the future, to see what all of our students will accomplish, and I am incredibly honored to call myself a Warrior!
I teach because I am passionate about having students reach their full potential. George Evans sums it up best, "Every child can learn. Just not on the same day or in the same way. " My goal is to ensure that all students are respected, create an inclusive environment, and help students achieve their post-secondary goals as they look forward towards their future.
