Sarah Slaght

My name is Sarah Slaght and I am one of the full time resource teachers here at Dr. Justina Ford Elementary. I am thrilled to be in LPS teaching students and also collaborating with classroom teachers and parents!

The last 5 years, I have had the privilege of teaching at Twain Elementary. Previously, I taught for 17 years at Pioneer Elementary (DCSD) in Parker as a resource teacher. My daughter Mikaela just started her first year of college at PLNU in California. She is studying to be a teacher and spending a lot of her free time enjoying the beach! My son Brady is in 10th grade and spends much of his time playing soccer. We have 2 dogs and love taking them hiking or paddleboarding. I love to read and am passionate about teaching students the skills necessary to be lifelong readers.

I grew up in the suburbs of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and graduated with my undergraduate degree in psychology from Lafayette College. 25 years ago, I moved to Colorado and attended the University of Colorado in Denver, earning my special education teaching license and master’s degree in special education.
