Welcome to Dr. Justina Ford Elementary

Betsy Maletz

Working to build strong relationships and connections with students, families, and peers is a passion of mine.  I am fortunate and grateful to be the Instructional Coach at Ford Elementary this year and becoming a part of this wonderful community!  I have had the pleasure of working for Adams 12 Five Star Schools, Denver Public Schools, and Littleton Public Schools, a place where I’ve found my home, most recently teaching kindergarten at Twain Elementary. I have taught kindergarten and first grades, and also worked as an Instructional Coach in Denver.  Originally a midwesterner, although I’ve called Colorado home for almost 20 years, my Bachelor's degree is in theater from Illinois State University.  I was so lucky not to make it to movie stardom, as it catapulted my passion for teaching!  I earned my Master’s degree from Metropolitan State University and have never looked back, although you may have caught some theatrics if you ever walked into my kindergarten classrooms!

In my free time, I enjoy tennis, music, crafting, and anything that keeps me learning.  And you can bet I’m working hard at being the best mom (and staying relevant…the struggle is real!) for my 14 year old twin girls, Zoe and Jude, who are starting their freshman year at Arapahoe High School!  Time flies!  I also really enjoy going out to breakfast for coffee talks with my husband, Josh, and cuddling my two dogs, Sunny & Sweetie.

I look forward to connecting with you and your sweet students this school year!
