Molly Sullivan RN, BSN
Why I teach:
I am passionate about sharing my love for healthcare with students! I strive to create an environment in which students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and collaborating with their peers. Everyone is capable of success and I want my students to leave with more insight about their future- even if that means deciding healthcare is not for them. I love supporting students as a whole person beyond the gradebook and look forward to seeing everyone learn and grow!
My pathway:
I always knew that I wanted to be a nurse but when I entered high school I began to consider the idea of teaching. I ultimately decided to pursue nursing with the intention of one day going in to the education side of things. I am a graduate of all LPS schools (Wilder, Goddard, and Heritage!) and then went off to the University of Iowa to study nursing. While there I worked as a nurse aide at the Stead Family Children's Hospital. I graduated with my Bachelor's of Science in Nursing and a minor in Human Relations in May of 2022.
As anyone who has ever moved out of Colorado knows, its very tough to stay away! I moved back to Denver in June 2022 and started working as a Registered Nurse in the adult Medical Oncology/Palliative Care Unit at the University of Colorado Hospital. In this role I was able to teach new nurses and nursing students as well as be a part of committees focusing on staff and patient education. In the Spring of 2024, I had the opportunity to work as a clinical instructor for the EPIC Campus Nurse Aide program. I found so much joy in teaching students at the very start of their healthcare journey and knew that my career path would be soon shifting!
About me:
In my free time, I love to ski and spend time with my cat, Daisy. I also love to bake, play tennis, and travel and I am a huge Colorado Avalanche fan! You might overhear me talking about the new recipes I have found or my next travel destination!
I am so very excited to be working with you all this year and have no doubt that we are going to have a fantastic year!
