About Mrs. Tolley

Hello! My name is Marisa Tolley and this will be my tenth year of teaching and my seventh year at Sandburg. Many of you know me as one of the 4th grade teachers. However, this year I have the opportunity to teach 3rd grade, and I couldn't be more excited! I have previously taught 2nd grade in Adams 12 School District, as well as 2nd and 4th grade in Douglas County School District. Needless to say, I'm thrilled I get to experience 3rd grade this coming school year!

I'm a Colorado native, born and raised in Thornton, CO; a suburb just north of downtown Denver. I attended the University of Colorado, Boulder (GO BUFFS!) and received my B.A. in Psychology, as well as my elementary education license. I earned my M.S. in School Psychology from Fort Hays State University in 2018. This past summer, I completed my second Master's, which will be in Leadership for Educational Organizations (i.e., my principal's license) with CU Denver. What can I say, I love school!

When I'm not working, you can find me in our basement converted gym, running along a trail in the foothills, or snuggled on the couch with a book (sometimes all three in the same day!). My husband and I enjoy frequent trips to the mountains and being outside as often as possible. Traveling is another favorite of ours, and we're always planning our next adventure. We also have a year and a half year old golden retriever, Lhotse, who keeps us busy!
