About me

I was born and raised right here in Littleton Colorado. I attended Mark Hopkins, Powell and Heritage High School. I have my BA in Elementary Education with and emphasis in Literacy from Adams State and my MA in Curriculum Development from University of Phoenix. I have also completed both the OG reading and math trainings as well as AVMR math recovery training.  I have always wanted to be a teacher so I really am living my dream. This is my 19 year teaching at Sandburg. I have taught K/1,1,1/2,2. First grade is my favorite as they grow SO much this year. 

I have 4 grown children. They also went through LPS graduating from Arapahoe. My oldest son Cody lives in Indiana with his wife, daughter Macy and two dogs .  My daughter Emily lives here in Centennial with her (dog baby) Chevy and cat Zed. My son Caleb owns his own garage door company and lives in Forest Park. My youngest daughter Erin and Granddaughter Paisley live in Scottsdale AZ. Which in my opinion is much to far way!! Being a grandma has brought me the greatest joy! I also have a little Yorkie named Gizmo. 

I love teaching first grade. It is such a wonderful time to learn, explore, believe in their ability to do or be anything. I feel partnering with you along this journey is important; as you have been their first teacher since birth! Thank for letting me be part of the journey.
