Work Based Learning - WBL
Work Based Learning - WBL offers students the opportunity to earn school credit for work experience. Students must be involved in one of the following: paid employment, internship/mentorship, or regular volunteer experience.
Any student that has a paying job is eligible to enroll in WBL.
Students who are interested should see Ms. Clark in room 1975 for more information and the required forms to fill out.
Here is a breakdown of how many hours worked will result in how many credits earned:
37.5 hours worked = .125 credit
75 hours worked = .25 credit
150 hours worked = .5 credit
300 hours worked = 1 credit
WBL is a Pass/Fail class. There are 3 parts that are included in the grade:
Turning in the required initial paperwork
Turning in pay stubs as the student gets paid. The minimum amount of hours needed is 37.5.
Two digital check-ins during the semester. The form will be posted on our Google Classroom.
WBL can count towards full time student status. You would be enrolled in WBL and 5 other classes. You MUST be able to work 150 hours during the semester in order for this to happen. Talk to your counselor if you interested in this.
