September: Title
In your blog, in addition to the required elements please discuss the meaning of the title of your book. Why do you think the author chose this title, what is the significance of it? Use evidence from the book (direct or indirect) to support your thoughts. Are there other titles that you would have chosen instead?
October: Setting
In your blog besides the required elements please write about the setting of the book you read. What is the setting? How does the setting influence the conflict(s)? How would the book be different if the setting changed?
November: Utopia/Dystopia
In addition to the required elements, please write about 1 or more of the Essential Questions for the Utopia Unit and how they relate to your book.

January: No blog, reading To Kill a Mockingbird
February: Be sure to choose a book that includes some type of prejudice. It can be any kind. In addition to the required elements, please write about 1 or more of the Essential Questions for the To Kill a Mockingbird unit and how they relate to your book.
Feb/March: Minor Character
In your blog, in addition to the required elements please discuss a minor character in your book who had a major impact. How was the story affected by this character? How might the book be different if that character were not in the book?
April: Non-Fiction
For our final unit, we will be doing a research project. You must read a non-fiction book for April. Consider reading one related to the topic you might be interested in researching.
May: No blog required.
