About Mrs. Trujillo

Kerrie Trujillo

Hi! My name is Kerrie Trujillo and I am very honored to be a fourth grade teacher at Dr. Justina Ford Elementary! This will be my first year in Littleton Public Schools, and I am thrilled to be joining this amazing district.

I grew up in New Jersey and received my bachelor’s degree from The College of New Jersey, where I double majored in Elementary Education and Women’s & Gender Studies. I completed my student teaching in Dublin, Ireland. After college I moved out to Colorado with my sister and two of our childhood best friends, and I began teaching. In 2016 I received my master’s degree in teaching English as a Second Language from The College of New Jersey’s Global Studies Program. I studied abroad in Mallorca, Spain and Bangkok, Thailand with educators from around the world.

This will be my thirteenth year teaching students at the intermediate grade level. For the last ten years I have taught literacy and history in Denver Public Schools. I am really passionate about my work as an educator, and am dedicated to providing all students with a rich and memorable learning experience. It is my goal to support students in developing the skills necessary to become lifelong learners.

I currently live in Littleton with my husband, Dusty and our three small children: Jack (3), Maggie (2), and our new baby Henry. We also have two very sweet dogs: Madeline, a Golden Retriever, and Josie, a German Wirehaired Pointer mix. When I am not teaching, I enjoy reading, photography, and spending time in the outdoors with my family and friends. I also love to travel and learn about other cultures!
