Christy Swafford

I am honored to be a part of the Ford community and serve alongside the students, families, staff, and educators to empower passionate hearts and develop innovative minds.

My leadership journey to Ford Elementary started in my home state of Alabama, where I spent my first eight years in education teaching literacy, STEM science, and gifted and talented. I moved to Colorado in 2014, serving as a K-8 instructional coach for innovation, facilitating learning in an elementary STEM lab, and implementing innovative and equitable learning for all Littleton Public Schools students at the district level. I have a B.S. in Elementary Education from Athens State University, an M.A. in Special Education Gifted and Talented from the University of Alabama (Roll Tide), and a Principal Licensure from the University of Denver. Over the past 17 years, I have taught grades K-8 and served in schools grades P-21.

I live in Centennial with my husband, daughter, and two dogs. Ford is our neighborhood school, so my daughter is a Ford Fox too.

I look forward to partnering with you at Dr. Justina Ford Elementary.
