During this project, students learn the Principles of Composition and practice taking narrative shots of everyday objects.
Aperture controls the focal depth of photographs. In this assignment, students will practice looking at thing in new, creative ways, and consider how clean backgrounds enhance the focus of an image.
Controlling the duration of a photograph and the speed of the camera's shutter allows photographers to stop motion, or stretch moving objects into blurs. Students design an original photoshoot which must include a prop, a moving component, and apporporiate camera settings to achieve the final result.
Portrait photography provides opportunity to work with human subjects and exposes students to photography and a business opportunity. Posing models, coordinating outfits, and choosing shooting locations are ingredients to a successful portrait, and the challenge here is to introduce a model through successful incorporation of all three. Say cheese!
Students in this class will be shooting exclusively on a CANON Rebel Ti series camera. If you have a camera like this already at home, feel free to being it to class throughout the course.
*You do not need to purchase a camera to be in this class!
