The Early Childhood Education program is designed to provide the skills needed towards employment as a teaching assistant in a childcare center, preschool, or elementary school. Included in the curriculum are these areas of professional knowledge:

All students will participate in FCCLA, a national student leadership organization. Students will have the opportunity to develop leadership skills through class and community projects, participate in the State competition, and attend conferences.

Concurrent Enrollment class for 12 college credits upon successful completion of the course. The Arapahoe Community College course credits you will receive are:
ECE 101 Introduction to Early Childhood Education (3 credits)
ECE 111 Infant/Toddler Theory (3 credits)
ECE 103 Guidance Strategies (3 credits)
ECE 102 Intro to Early Childhood Techniques (3 credits). This class gives you hands-on field experience working with children.
Earn high school credit while earning college credit.
A year long course for junior or seniors
Course times: Monday-Friday 1:15-3:15 p.m.
Classes meet off-campus at Arapahoe Community College
Focus is on ages birth to 8 years.
Receive training in the classroom and in a licensed child care facility.
Includes all of the academic classes needed to become a preschool teacher.
