Meet Ms. Sheehan

WELCOME TO SECOND GRADE!

I was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. My family moved to Colorado when I was in the fifth grade and I continued learning in Jefferson County Public Schools. I received a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Northern Colorado and earned a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Colorado University in Boulder. My career began in Aurora Public Schools teaching Kindergarten for one year, third grade for two years, second grade for five years, first grade for two years and then I became a Title 1 reading teacher for four years after obtaining my Master's Degree.

I have been a teacher in Littleton Public Schools for the past 24 years. I taught at Ames Elementary (now Ford), Field, Runyon and Sandburg before finding a home at Laura Ingalls Wilder.

For the past 20 years, I have worked as a Literacy Resource Teacher, Literacy Specialist and Instructional Coach at Wilder. This school year I have returned to the classroom and am enjoying the awesome group of second graders who are part of my school family!

When I am not teaching, you can find me hanging out with my son and daughter-in-law, traveling to visit my two daughters who live in California and Montana, browsing the aisles of Barnes and Noble, reading or spending time with friends and family.
