Speech events include:

Informative Speaking (Info) - Inform your audience about a subject that you find interesting, this event includes visual aids
Extemporaneous Speaking (Exempt / USX / IX) - Choose a question on a current event and deliver an answer after 30 min of prep time
Interp events include:
Humor - deliver a 10 min performance of any script / story / media with a humorous tone
Drama - deliver a 10 min performance of any script / story / media with a dramatic tone
Poetry - preform a selection of poetry organized around a theme or author
Program Oral Interpretation (POI) - create a performance addressing a theme of your choice by compiling excerpts from a variety of media sources like scripts, news articles, songs, blogs, books, etc.
Duo - any of the above, but with a partner
Debate events include:
Lincoln Douglas Debate (LD) - one vs. one debate format using philosophy to defend or attack a resolution (topic) that changes every few months.
Policy / Cross Examination Debate (CX) - two vs two debate format using evidence and impacts to defend or attack a resolution
Public Forum Debate (PF) - two vs. two debate format that is more casual / friendly in tone and format, like a dinner table debate. The resolution is rooted in current events and changes throughout the season
