Hello! I'm Ethan Kuhlmann

During school, you can find me...

• In the Language Arts Office or room C-1454, collaborating with colleagues, lesson planning, and meeting with students.

Outside of school, you can find me...

• Grading and planning during the school year

• Running with the AHS Cross-Country team as an assistant coach

• Running and riding bikes on the roads and trails of Colorado

• Camping, backpacking, and hiking all over the mountain west.

• Reading lots of good books--look me up on Goodreads (ethan kuhlmann).

• Writing--I'm a member of a couple of writer's groups, as well as the Denver Writing Project and National Writing Project

• Travelling--some recent destinations include the Big Horn Mountains of Wyoming, Lake Champlain in Vermont, and the Colorado mountains.

• Listening to music--concerts, LPs, CDs, Spotify, etc.. I listen to music of all types.

• Hanging out with friends and family, including my wife, Mrs. Abby Kuhlmann (assistant principal and activities director at AHS). We got married at the end of December 2017. We have a 4 year-old daughter named Kate and a 2 year-old daughter named Mae. I couldn't be more proud and happy to spend my life with my family.

I never thought I would teach, but I do because...

• It's the hardest, most challenging, and most rewarding thing I have ever done.

• It's a never-ending task involving close relationships, trust, rigor, and care.

• I never look at the clock and wish time would go faster.

• I trust, admire, and feed off the creativity of those I teach with in Arapahoe's Language Arts Department.

• I want students to be able to read and use language & empower them to both understand and create themselves in an ever-changing world of words.
