About Mrs. James

My name is Christi James. Sandburg has been my teaching home since 2000. I feel very fortunate to be a part of this wonderful community. While most of classroom teaching has been in 3rd and 4th grade, I have also taught in 1st grade, been the Gifted/Talented facilitator, and the teacher-librarian. I earned my Bachelor of Science from Colorado State University followed by a Masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Denver.

I live in the Littleton Public Schools community and my children went through LPS schools several years ago. My husband, Mark, and I have always appreciated all the wonderful things Littleton has to offer. Volunteering in my own children's classes many years ago was a major catalyst in making my decision to become certified as an elementary school teacher.

When not teaching, there are many things I enjoy. One of the first things on my list has to be spending time with my grandchildren. I have four grandchildren here in town ranging in age from 2 - 12 years old and 3 grandchildren, who live on opposite coasts. I love to travel! The beach and the mountains are favorite destinations and a trip to Europe was the highlight of my summer travels in 2018. I am a passionate reader! Some of my favorite days are spent on my back porch with a cup of tea and a great book in my hands. I also love to cook and bake. In fact, "reading" cookbooks combines two of my loves. I have also become a Pickleball enthusiast in the past year. I'm very much a beginner, but enjoy playing as often as I can.

I consider it a privilege to be a teacher and build such meaningful relationships with the students and families in our Sandburg community. Every year, I look forward to all the new experiences and learning that take place in this grand adventure called "school!"
