I am so thrilled to be joining the Hopkins family this year as a 3rd Grade Teacher. This year will be my 19th year in education, and I have served in various roles over the years. I started my career in Douglas County as a classroom teacher for 8 years (6th, 5th and 3rd Grade). I then joined LPS in 2013 as a Gifted and Talented Facilitator, and also an Instructional Coach for the last 10 years at Sandburg Elementary. There is nothing more rewarding than being with students everyday, and I am so excited to be returning to the classroom, and especially 3rd Grade.
While I am not at Hopkins, my husband and I are usually exploring Colorado and adventuring with our daughter, Olivia (6), our son James, (2), and our dog, Bennett. Olivia is so excited to be a Hopkins Hopper this year, too!
I am so excited to be teaching 3rd grade at Hopkins this year! This will be my 6th year teaching, and my 4th year at Hopkins (1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade). Alongside my Teaching Degree, I also earned my Masters in Cousnseling and School Psychology with an emphasis in Mental Health Practices in Schools. Relationships are the center of my classroom and I believe that creating a safe and welcoming space for students to learn is crucial.
I am originally from St. Louis, Missouri and about 4 years ago my husband and I made Colorado our home. I have two dogs named Zeus and George and a cat named Chai!
