I was born in Denver and moved to Casper, Wyoming when I was two. I loved growing up in a small town and being the second oldest in a family of three sisters and two brothers. Many life lessons were learned in a family of six kids!!
I graduated from the University of Wyoming with a B. A. in Elementary Education. I moved back to Denver and began substitute teaching part time while raising my family. I was ready to go back to the joy of teaching my own classroom which has included: teaching preschool, teaching kindergarten in Douglas County, and 15 years as a kindergarten teacher in LPS.
Besides the joy I receive teaching, I love being a mom and grandmother! Jordan is my oldest son and he lives in Raleigh, North Carolina with his wife and new baby girl. Camille is my second child and she is a Traveling Pediatric nurse. James is my college student at CSU in Ft. Collins. We love getting together when we can to camp, hike or vacation.
In my spare time I enjoy reading novels, biking, leisure walks on the canal, and camping with my family in Colorado and Wyoming. Teaching is my joy and passion, and each year continues to be a blessing to me!!
My beliefs as a teacher
It is a privilege to teach each child entrusted to me
My hope is to foster the love of learning while establishing a special relationship with each child
I will teach with respect and kindness while valuing each child for who they are and where they are in the learning process
I will strive to allow each child's natural curiosity, creativity, and sense of wonder and discovery to bloom
I will provide a safe and caring environment where a community of learners can grow both academically and socially
Memories will be made and smiles will abound!!
