Volunteer Opportunities

We are all busy – especially now that our students are in high school. But parents play a very important part in making Heritage the great school that it is. Your help, even a small amount of time, provides countless events, opportunities, and support for our students. When you donate even a little bit of your time, you are ensuring the continued community feel that makes Heritage High School unique. Thank you for already being an important part of the Heritage community! Here are ways you can support our school:

Join the PTO Board

Please consider joining the Heritage High School PTO Board or come attend the monthly PTO meetings to see what we’re up to!

The PTO meetings are the best way to keep your finger on the pulse of Heritage High School. Principal Stacey Riendeau attends every meeting and offers her updates, ideas, concerns and wisdom. She is always open to any and all questions and discussions, as is the entire PTO board.

There is so much going on at Heritage and so much more we would like to do, but we need your help! There are a variety of ways to get involved. Whether you have one hour to give, several or many, we would welcome your contribution! We have jobs you can do from home or on your computer, organizational or creative projects, and opportunities to work directly with students – whatever your strength or desire, we have something for you!

How can you join us? Check out the HHS “In The Know” weekly newsletter for opportunities and PTO board contact information. In The Know is published every Friday morning and delivered straight to your inbox OR can be viewed on the HHS website.

Accountability Committee

Improvements at the school level are achieved through the process of school-centered decision making. Successful goals in education are the result of careful planning. The purpose of the Heritage High School Accountability Committee is to work collaboratively to improve student achievement and school climate and safety. The work of the committee is in compliance with state accountability requirements and district policy. Meetings are generally held the second Tuesday of each month from 4 to 5:30 p.m. More information is available by contacting the HHS administrative staff.

Post Grad Center

Parents, get the inside track on preparing your child for their lives after high school. Learn about educational options, financial aid, gap years, and the world of work. Become a volunteer in the Heritage High School Post Grad Center for the next school year. If you are interested in helping students plan their future, this is the opportunity for you. Our volunteers are fully trained, work one day a week for 2 ½ to 3 hours, and make a tremendous difference in the lives of our students. If you are interested please contact the Post Grad department on the HHS website.

Patrons of Fine Arts

The Heritage High School Patrons of Fine Arts (PFA) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit booster organization open to parents of students enrolled in any of the Fine Arts Programs at Heritage: Band, Orchestra, Vocal Music, Theater Arts, and Visual Arts. Our purpose is to support the students and faculty in the Heritage Fine Arts Department through awareness and advocacy. For more information, search for “Fine Arts” on the HHS website.

Sports Booster Clubs

While parents are not required to join the various booster clubs associated with athletic and student-sponsored groups, it is through strong parental participation and donations that we are able to provide high quality of programs. We would therefore encourage every parent to become active in their respective booster groups here at Heritage. If you aren’t sure if your group has a booster club, please contact the sponsor or coach to find out!
