My name is Amy Gautreau and I am the Gifted and Talented Facilitator as well as The Smartlab teacher at Field Elementary. I want to start by telling a little about myself. I am originally from Vermont, but have lived my adult life here in Colorado. I graduated with a degree in Elementary Education and Psychology from St. Michael’s College in Vermont. In addition, I received my Masters in Special Education from the University of Colorado- Denver. My hobbies include playing tennis, golf, skiing, biking and traveling. I have two children at the University of Kansas who are busy enoying watching KU football and basketball games and even playing some sports. Rock Chalk!!
This is my 18th year teaching in Colorado, and my 6th year teaching Gifted and Talented. I have also taught students with special needs in all grades. My experience with students across the spectrum of needs gives me a unique opportunity to understand how all students learn. I have enjoyed working at Field Elementary school because of the amazing community. The students are so thoughful and kind. In addition, parents come to all the events and parent teacher conferences. Everyone works together to focus on student learning.
