We begin our year learning how to advocate for ourselves and our wonderfully unique names, cultures and backgrounds. By reading the beautiful, Your Name Is A Song, Written by Jamilah Thompkins-Bigelow, our students will practice correcting people in a firm yet, polite way, on how to properly say their names. This is powerful work for our young multicultural and multilingual students as learning how to say another's name correctly is the simplest way to show each other respect. From here we will jump into the parts of speech and learning about the structure of the English language all while remembering how wonderfully amazing our differences and similarities are!

About me

Littleton Public Schools is such a great community to belong in. I went to school here from K-12, graduating from Littleton High School in 2004. It is exciting for me to return to the schools that have provided me with so much opportunity and be able to give back to my community.

I graduated from Fort Lewis College in Durango, CO with my bachelors degree in Elementary Education and a CLDE Endorsement. In Durango, my love for the outdoors flourished as I became an avid snowboarder, rafter, hiker and lover of fresh mountain air.

I have two beautiful children who are attending LPS schools and a supportive husband who are my world! I am SO excited to learn and teach along side my colleagues, students and parents here at Hopkins and Sandburg!
