2025 Practice Schedule

Location: Powell Middle School

Monday - Friday, except Game Days

Times:

C Team - 4:45 - 6:00 PM
JV - 4:45 - 6:15 PM
Varsity - 5:30 - 7:30 PM We will adjust as needed when daylight savings happens later in the season. Be ready for an earlier practice time starting in October.

In order to try out for the 2025 AHS Field Hockey team, please complete the following 2 steps!

Register for Fall Sports here: https://arapahoehs-ar.rschooltoday.com (Yes! This applies to you if you go to Littleton or Heritage as well!)
Complete/renew your Sports Physical.

Tryout Details

When: August 11 - 15 from 5:30 - 7:30 pm + August 16th (block 7 am - 4 pm) for inter-school scrimmages. More details coming soon!

Where: LPS Centennial Stadium (the new stadium by Newton Middle School)

Here's what we are assessing:

We plan to support 3 teams again this year - Varsity, JV, and C team. For tryouts, the coaches and I will be scoring and assessing players on the following:

Game Play
Skills
- Dribbling
- Passing/Trapping
- Shooting
- Tackling
Fitness
- Short distance (sprints i.e. 300s)
- Long distance (be prepared to run up to 2 miles)
  - Note: Goalies are exempt from this fitness test and will have additional agility testing. We would love to see a 3rd goalie tryout this year.

Attitude & Teamwork
