SOPRANO/ALTO CHOIR (“SoPal”)
Year Long: Grades 9, 10, 11, 12
Credit: 0.5 credits per semester
Prerequisite: Interest in singing in a vocal music ensemble or by ensemble placement audition.

This is an entry-level singing group for soprano and alto singers. This course will consist of up to 4-part singing and students will focus on developing healthy, mature vocal production and music fundamentals. Comprehensive musicianship including sight reading, listening, ensembleship, musical expression, basic music theory ,and relating music to other disciplines and cultures are all integral components of SoPal Choir. This group of singers performs a variety of literature suitable to an ensemble of its size, ability, and character. Concert sound check rehearsals and all performances are REQUIRED.  “All-black, formal concert dress” expense is the responsibility of the student.

TENOR/BASS CHOIR (“Bass Choir”)
Year Long; Grades 9, 10, 11, 12
Credit: 0.5 credits per semester
Prerequisite: Interest in singing in a vocal music ensemble or by ensemble placement audition.

This is an entry-level singing group for tenors and bass singers. This course will consist of up to 4-part singing and students will focus on developing healthy, mature vocal production and music fundamentals. Comprehensive musicianship including sight reading, listening, ensembleship, musical expression, basic music theory, and relating music to other disciplines and cultures are all integral components of Bass Choir. This group of singers performs a variety of literature suitable to an ensemble of its size, ability, and character. Concert sound check rehearsals and all performances are REQUIRED.  “All-black, formal concert dress” expense is the responsibility of the student.

AUDITION CHOIR: CHORALE
Year Long; Grades 10, 11, 12
Credit: 0.5 credits per semester
Prerequisite: Instructor approval (audition only)
LPS District Fee: $40.00

The Arapahoe Chorale is an advanced ensemble of talented soprano and alto singers. Healthy, mature vocal production and music fundamentals are stressed. Comprehensive musicianship including sight reading, listening, ensembleship, musical expression, basic music theory, and relating music to other disciplines and cultures are all integral components of Chorale. This select group of singers performs a variety of literature suitable to an ensemble of its size and preparation of work outside of class is sometimes required. Concert sound check rehearsals and all performances are REQUIRED.  Concert attire expense is the responsibility of the student.
