LPCS 5th/6th Grade Locker Agreements
2025 - 2026
Students must maintain assigned lockers all school year. Any changes require approval by the homeroom teacher. Locker changes will be granted only in cases of emergency. Receiving a bottom locker when a top locker is desired is not considered an emergency.
Lockers are to be used to store school supplies and personal items for use at school only. Lunchboxes may be stored in lockers. We ask that liquids (such as water bottles or unsealed lunch items) not be stored in lockers.
Students are required to refrain from decorating their lockers (inside or outside). Please do not use any tape, stickers, sticky notes, writing, glue, magnets, etc. inside or outside of the lockers that could deface it. A properly fitting shelf may be added to the locker to help with organization.
Students will keep lockers clean and free of debris. In order to ensure lockers remain clean, students will be given time to clean them throughout the school year. At the end of the school year, students will be responsible for removing all items from the lockers and for completely cleaning lockers. The school is not responsible for items left in lockers after students leave at the end of the school year. Lockers will be inspected regularly to ensure that students are leaving them clean and tidy.
Students are responsible for all personal and school belongings. The school is not responsible for items left in lockers. Valuable items should be left at home and not brought to school.
Locks will not be permitted on lockers. Lockers need to be easily accessible during passing periods to ensure students are on time for classes.
We are trying to alleviate the need for students to bring backpacks to classes. Please ensure that backpacks and their contents fit in your locker. Lockers are 11 inches wide, 17 inches deep, and 31 inches high.
Students will close the locker door using an appropriate amount of force. Slamming the locker door can result in damage to the mechanism that opens the locker’s door making it so the door will not open. Should a student damage a locker, the first repair will be in good faith and the subsequent repairs will be charged to the family.
