Millions of educational institutions around the globe were shocked by the world pandemic; and they begun abandoning or altering their educational plans and programs. While the threats on public health were real and were taken very seriously, there was no giving up on recognizing and supporting the right of every child to quality education around the world.
LPMS supports the education decision of the Philippines Department of Education to develop and implement effective education responses to the COVID-19 Pandemic.
We accept the necessary social isolation measures that will disrupt school-based education for several months or academic school year. Hence, we shall be launching Learning Continuity Plan: An Education Response & Commitment, LPMS Way, starting school year 2020 – 2021
LPMS Learning Continuity Plan (LCP) is our commitment to continue providing education to our students and families while at the same time ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of our learners, teachers, and personnel in this time of COVID-19. It is our intentional and effective strategy to protect children’s opportunity to learn during this period.

Our Montessori-based Flexible-Blended Learning Approach highlights the significance of home-school partnership and collaboration – placing both our teachers and parents as the caring, continuously learning and teaching adults in the lives of the LPMSians.
Parents have always been recognized as vital partners in education. They have been great influence in the development of their children’s positive attitude towards learning and support learning at home.
LPMS would like to strengthen this partnership as the school embarks on a new Montessori-based Blended-Flexible Learning Approach to continue the delivery of quality and accessible education to our students as we all adapt to a challenging new normal in education.
It is important to us that the children’s activity during this time be enjoyable, thoughtful, challenging, and rewarding. Replicating what happens in our classrooms is not something we can achieve fully during this period. Our goal is to work in collaboration with families to keep alive the culture of learning that is unique to Las Pinas Montessori School and provide families with support and activities that match the developmental needs and characteristics of each child in our community
We shall continue to challenge and develop in our children, the ten character strengths of the Montessori pedagogy – respect, adaptability, community, order, independence, choices, creativity, grace and courtesy, preparation for life and love.
Montessori pedagogy gives children the freedom to explore and develop to their fullest potential while working with didactic materials, in groups and independently, within a prepared environment, which is now, the home environment of every LPMSian.
The concept of respect—for self, others and the environment—guides the Montessori method.

LPMS PROMOTES PRACTICAL LIFE & ACTIVITIES AT HOME
Practical life is an important part of experiential learning. It is part of every Montessori classroom and can be mirrored at home.
These activities assist students in developing purposeful life skills for their continued growth and development.
The activities include refining fine motor and movement skills practicing coordination, planning and problem solving.
Importance of Practical life activities:
• foster order and sequence;
• develop concentration;
• foster physical independence;
• foster the development of fine motor control; and
• provide opportunities for planning and carrying out tasks
These skills form the foundation of a child’s academic learning.
The Practical Life area also provides children with opportunities to contribute to family life.
