KINGSFORD HEIGHTS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL 

School Information

Kingsford Heights Elementary School is one of 8 elementary schools in the La Porte Community School Corporation.  Our school is located in the southernmost part of the district in the small town of Kingsford Heights. KHES currently has 144 students in grades PreK-4th.  Our programming includes two community based classrooms for students in grades K-4 as well as a PreK class.  Recent demographics show that KHES is 65% Free and Reduced and is a designated Title 1 school. The community actively supports the school, the students, and the staff.  Kingsford Heights is a town with great pride and patriotism that was built for ammunitions production workers during World War II.  Currently, KH is experiencing  a large growth of new home building and our school looks forward to welcoming new students and families! KHES is small but mighty!

The La Porte Community School Corporation is strategically situated in Northern Indiana near many of our area's most popular sites.  To our East about 30 miles are several colleges including the University of Notre Dame, IUSB, and Bethel University.  To our West about 30 miles is the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore and Purdue Northwest. Additionally, La Porte is 10 short miles to Michigan and Lake Michigan and 60 miles to Chicago.  Our once expansive industrial area is currently on the upswing of growth in part due to the popularity of our city lakes, beautiful parks, sporting trails, arts community, and small town atmosphere.  LPCSC covers approximately 200 square miles and is one of the largest districts in land mass in Indiana.
