About Mrs. Ruffo

Welcome!

The 2021-2022 school year will be my 16th year teaching, and my 6th year teaching at Hahira Elementary School. Prior to teaching at HES, I taught at Moulton-Branch Elementary and Dewar Elementary School. This year will be my 10th year teaching 5th grade. I have also taught 2nd, 3rd, and EIP (Early Intervention Program).

Last May, I was very honored to learn that I will be representing Hahira Elementary as the 21-22 Hahira Teacher of the Year. In the 2011-2012 school year, I represented Dewar Elementary as Teacher of the Year and even went on to be named Lowndes County's Teacher of the Year. Through these experiences, I have had many great opportunities to meet and learn from several leaders in education.

I have a bachelor's in Early Childhood Education, my master's in Reading Education, and my specialist's in Teacher Leadership all from Valdosta State University. I also have my endorsement to teach gifted and talented students.

In the classroom, I am a major tech-geek. I love that we are 1 to 1 with Chromebooks at HES! Please look for information about the Chromebooks with the beginning of the school year paperwork that will go home with your child.

I know this is going to be a great year, and I can't wait to meet all of you!
