Professional Background & Philosophy
I’m the high school science teacher at PMLC. My degree is a Master of Arts in Teaching in Middle Grades Education from Valdosta State University, with a concentration in math and science. I’ve been teaching for 16 years. After teaching math for 13 years, I decided to transition to the science classroom.
After having my children and working various jobs, I went back to school to get my teaching degree. I’ve always enjoyed helping people learn new things. It was a great decision and it’s been an adventure! My goal is to foster a safe, inclusive environment where students feel empowered to ask questions and develop the analytical skills they will need long after graduation.
Life Outside the Classroom
I believe that a well-rounded teacher is a better teacher. When I'm not in the classroom, I enjoy the balance of a busy home life and relaxing hobbies:
Family: I cherish my time with my husband, children and grandchild, who are my biggest supporters.
The Pets: Our household is kept lively by our dachshund, Bea.
Recreation: To recharge, I head to the pool or the beach—there is something about the water that always sparks fresh perspectives.
Interests: I am a passionate thrifter. I love the process of finding "hidden gems" and giving old items a second life.
Contact Information
I believe strong communication between teachers and families is the key to student success. Please feel free to reach out with any questions or to schedule a meeting.
