The Essentials
Full Name & Pronouns:
Mrs. Clark (she/her)
Current Role:
Middle School Special Education Teacher (K–12)
Educational Background:
I hold a Master of Science (M.S.) and an Education Specialist (Ed.S.) in Special Education and am currently pursuing my Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Special Education. I also hold a Dyslexia Endorsement, which equips me to provide specialized support for students with diverse reading and learning needs.
Years in Education:
With 20+ years in education, I have worked with students across elementary, middle, and high school in special education, reading intervention, behavioral support, transition services, autism programs, social emotional learning, alternative education, GNETS, and education for incarcerated youth. Every experience has reinforced my belief that every student can learn and deserves the opportunity to succeed.
The Heart of My Classroom
My Why:
I believe every student has the ability to learn and deserves someone who will never give up on them, regardless of their disability or the challenges they face. Every child needs someone who believes in them, recognizes their potential, and encourages them to pursue excellence, no matter what that journey looks like or where they begin.
Classroom Philosophy:
I strive to create a classroom where every student feels welcomed, respected, safe, and valued. I believe learning happens best when students know they belong, feel supported, and are encouraged to take risks, ask questions, and grow with confidence. My goal is to help every student discover their strengths while providing the tools and support they need to reach their fullest potential.
Favorite Subject:
Reading is my favorite subject to teach because it is the foundation for lifelong learning. I love helping students become confident readers, strengthen their comprehension skills, and discover the joy and power of reading. Watching students realize they can read, understand, and think critically is one of the greatest rewards of being an educator.
The Human Factor
Hobbies:
When I’m not at school, you’ll usually find me reading, writing, traveling, or spending quality time with family and friends. I enjoy making memories, exploring new places, and embracing opportunities to learn and grow.
