Ms. Linn

K-5th Teacher of Striving Readers

Who is Ms. Linn?

Teaching is a second career for me, but it is the place where I feel that I am finally at home.  I believe that every child can learn and that every child has a right to be taught in the way that they learn best.  As teachers and staff at Westside we are each responsible in some small way for the education of every child that enters the front door.

I graduated from Furman University in Greenville, SC with my B.A. in Drama in 1990.  I received my Master's degree in Special Education from Valdosta State University in May of 2007 and began teaching at Dewar Elementary in the Fall of 2007. I taught at Dewar until accepting a position at Westside Elementary School beginning with the 2015-16 school year. From 2015 until the end of the 2023 school year, I taught the LEAP class. I recently earned my endorsement in dyslexia and will be working with K-5th grade striving readers beginning with the 2023-24 school year. I am very excited about the possibilities that this opportunity brings!

I have two children who both have attended Lowndes County Schools from Pre-K/Kindergarten on. My daughter is an ICU nurse at SGMC, and my son graduated from UGA and is working for the Social Security Administration In Athens. I am proud to be a small part of the Lowndes County School System!

Your child is the reason I love my job!
