About Me

I have a deep passion for children, teaching, and helping students discover the joy of learning. My educational journey began in 1995 at Hahira Elementary School, where I have been blessed to serve students in multiage classrooms and teach second, third, and fourth grades. Today, I have the honor of serving as the gifted resource teacher for students in grades 1–5.

One of the greatest blessings of my career has been the opportunity to build lasting relationships with students and families. There is something truly special about watching families grow and having the privilege of teaching the children of former students. Being a continued part of their educational journey is a reminder of the strong connections that make the Hahira community such a special place and a wonderful place to call home.

One of the most rewarding parts of my role is creating engaging learning experiences that encourage students to think critically, ask thoughtful questions, explore new ideas, and grow beyond the standard curriculum. In our gifted program, students are challenged through hands-on investigations, creative problem-solving, and opportunities to think deeply, collaborate, and work independently. My goal is to nurture curiosity, inspire a lifelong love of learning, and help every child recognize and develop their unique strengths and abilities.

Outside of school, I enjoy traveling, reading, cheering on the Vikings and Georgia Bulldogs, and making memories with family and friends. A few of my favorite things include Diet Coke, chocolate-covered almonds, peanut butter M&M’s, shopping at TJ Maxx, HomeGoods, and Amazon, and eating out pretty much anywhere! 

Family is one of my greatest blessings. When I’m not at school, you will most likely find me spending time with the people I love most. My husband, Joe, and I are blessed with our children—Joseph and Holley, Abby and Charlie, Sam, Bella, and Maddie—and our three precious grandchildren, Charlie Jr., Lucy James, and Jack. They are truly the greatest joy in our lives and the highlight of my days outside the classroom.
