Things to Work on At Home

We practice the following activities at school daily, however, practicing these skills at home is also very beneficial to your child's success! Here are some ways that you can help:

-Writing: Have your child practice writing/writing their name often.

-Fine motor activities will help strengthen your child's hand/finger muscles. Allow your child to play with Play-Doh, use lacing cards, write/color, cut, build using Lego's, etc.

-Counting: Have your child count every day. Practice counting to at least 10, but allow them to count as high as they can if they're able to count further. Also, have them count objects around your home. Make them touch each item as they count.

-Number Recognition: Have your child identify numbers. Be sure to mix the numbers up (0-10).

-Letter Recognition: Ask your child to identify both upper and lowercase letters. Be sure to mix them up. Begin with mastering the letters in their name.

-Letter Sounds: Have your child identify each letter sound as they're identifying letters.
