Students will have an opportunity to audition for District Honor Band placements every Fall. If accepted, students will perform in a large group ensemble with other band students from different counties in South Georgia.

Morning Practices
Get to school early before the bell rings?! Come to the band room and practice with your friends before your first class. This helps students build their instrument abilities and create fun interactive relationships with other band students!
Band Festival
Band Festival
In the spring, students will travel to LGPE (Large Group Performance Evaluation) or GBA (Georgia Band Masters Association) to perform on stage in front of judges for ratings on their performance and sight-reading abilities.

Concerts are performed in the Lowndes High School Performing Arts Center at LHS. This is the best part about being in band! Performing for our community and representing LMS with pride!

In band, you will have many opportunities to travel as a group and perform at different venues! We also take a Spring trip every year with our 7th and 8th graders!

We use the "Habits Of A Successful Beginner Band Musician" by Scott Rush and Jeff Scott
These can be purchased at our music shop vendors or online!
