Welcome to 5th grade!
Welcome to fifth grade! I hope this year will be a time filled with learning, friends, and wonderful memories of your senior year at HES. Show me that you are responsible, respectful, and productive, and we'll have lots of fun with math!
A little about me...
I am a 2005 graduate of Valdosta State University with an Early Childhood Education degree. I also hold a master's degree in education from Grand Canyon University. I was born and raised just north of Hahira in Tifton, GA. My husband and I have two beautiful daughters. We love to draw, play outside, and dance! This summer we spent some time at our favorite place (the beach, of course!) and lots of time with family and friends.
HES School Motto
"Bee" Responsible
"Bee" Respectful
"Bee" Productive
Behavior logs are sent home every Friday in the burgundy communication folder. Missing homework, incomplete classwork, and behavior issues will result in the loss of recess. In the Opportunity Room (O.R.), students document their behavior on an OR note, and the note is sent home to be signed by the guardian and returned the next school day. The teacher may choose to assign multiple days of O.R. or send a child to the office in the case of reoccurring or severe offenses. 5th grade students are expected to be responsible, respectful, and productive at all times!
Graded papers will be sent home in your child's communication folder. Please take the time to review each assignment with your child. Praise the positives; discuss and correct the errors. Papers marked "sign and return" must be returned the next school day to the homeroom teacher.
Google Classroom grades may be viewed through your child's school Google account. Study Island grades may be viewed through your child's Study Island account. You may also check your child's grades online through Infinite Campus Parent Portal.
