Mrs. Wetherington

Mrs. Wetherington grew up in Valdosta, Georgia. She has been an educator for more than 20 years. She began her career in education at Clyattville Elementary where she taught Kindergarten, 1st Grade, and 3rd Grade. Her leadership experience also began at Clyattville where she served as assistant principal before moving to Hahira Elementary. Mrs. Wetherington served as the assistant principal at Hahira for eleven years. She was thrilled to be welcomed as the AP at Pine Grove Elementary in 2015.

She holds a Bachelor degree in Early Childhood Education, and Master and Educational Specialist degrees in Educational Administration, Leadership, and Curriculum Instruction.

Whidbey also joins Mrs. Wetherington in welcoming you to Pine Grove Elementary. Whidbey is an 8 year old Labrador Retriever. He is certified through ADI (Assistance Dogs International) to serve as a facility/social dog. Facility dogs are specially trained to work with a professional in the fields of education, counseling, medicine, rehabilitation, retirement or other specialty agencies. Whidbey has been coming to school with Mrs. Wetherington since 2012. Over the years, Whidbey has listened to many children read. He has comforted those who are upset and he has helped many overcome their fear of animals. He puts a smile on the children's faces each and every day.
