He is certified through ADI (Assistance Dogs International) to serve as a facility/social dog. Facility dogs are specially trained to work with a professional in the fields of education, counseling, medicine, rehabilitation, retirement or other specialty agencies. Whidbey has been coming to school with Mrs. Wetherington since 2012. Over the years, Whidbey has listened to many children read. He has comforted those who are upset and he has helped many overcome their fear of animals. He puts a smile on the children's faces each and every day.
