Archery
I have the privilege to be one of the archery coaches at HMS!!
Archery not only allows students to learn a new activity but it has been proven that it allows for better focus in the classroom.
I started out as a volunteer and loved it so much I got certified and became a coach several years ago. The HMS Archery team has a great history in its short span here at HMS. We hold many state titles and have been honored to have individual state champions on our team. I have personally witnessed students with disabilities come into our archery program and succeed not only on the line but also in the classroom. There is a certain amount of discipline that it takes to be an archer that carries over into the classroom and I am overjoyed to be a part of such a successful and promising program!
